Niagara Falls Vacation

Living in southern New York State, is not often that we can visit the Niagara Falls region of our country. Several years ago my wife asked to perform four-day mini-trip to see Falls as he had been there. We decided to go on weekdays to avoid weekend traffic crush as much as possible. We make hotel reservations and off we went. Using Route 17 North State, the trip takes more time then using Route 287, but the scenery is beautiful and you can visit a small village that offers a great antique shops, restaurants and in Endicott, a restored 1920 carousel, a zoo and exhibits. We need to take several days to travel 500 miles to reach Niagara with all the stops and shopping but we were stopped early, before dark, every day, got a room and a nice dinner.

One of the most special place outside of Niagara Falls is to stop us at the Corning glass factory in Corning, New York. they are wonderful museums and displays the chandelier is taking a breath. More colors than you can imagine glass and items made of glass than you can count. Vase, a plate shaker, glasses, airport landing lights, chandeliers, lamps and displays only room and bedroom. I have to fall as a child but the mere sound of water and forgotten. We arrived at the hotel around 18:00 and we "fall view" rooms have beautiful views of the brick wall of the hotel. The tram tour is the home park that is also worth the cost and lasted several hours. The peak, of course, is riding in one of the boats that approached the foot of Falls itself. We ride on the "Maid of the Mist" and it's worth a line waiting to board. They give you a plastic rain jacket to wear and smart people wear them. Many are not, and a little regret afterwards. Boat trips to the old Comstock tunnel outlet and the foot fall alone. Boat Captain pushed the boat's nose as close as possible to the water that falls from above. Another great attraction is being able to walk through the tunnel Comstock and eventually fall behind. There are wooden decks that you can actually stand on to see. I could not help but think about the people who dare to build their decks a few years ago. Amazing!

Our four-day trip turned into seven days because there are so many places to visit and things to see in New York State, that we have done another good trip too.
